FraudJournal Blog

The purpose of this blog is share what is happening in the fraud fighting community, encourage mutual sharing of lessons learned and entice the public to apply these lessons and information to help us fight those that would steal our identity and undermine the freedom and opportunities we have all worked so hard to enjoy.

I am a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) with over fifteen years of accounting experience. I cut my teeth on elder financial exploitation, but have experience in various other types of fraud. I use my work experience and professional training and education in business management to help others. I believe the best way to arm the public is to inform them, and the best way to help my fellow crime fighters is to encourage them by sharing their successes as well as their frustrations.

Pro jucticia nos peto verum – For justice we seek truth.

  2. I am a fraud victim. I have reported the crimes to law enforcement in three states(at all levels of the criminal justice system) handing them a Forensic Accounting Investigation Report at the same time. I was turned away everytime with reasons (I call them excuses) that ranged from “that’s not my jurisdiction”, “we don’t do that type of thing”, “that’s not my job” to “we can’t help you, sorry”. Law enforcement needs a special Financial Crimes Investigation Unit staffed with Certified Fraud Examiners, Forensic Financial Analysts, and other financial specialists as well as their own attorneys for the prosecution and trial. I found one website that sounded ideal for catching fraudsters. How can citizens persuade government officials that changes need to be made in order to stop fraud which is now the fastest growing crime in America?
